Lakers List Luka Doncic Questionable Against Pistons

Luka Doncic is questionable with lower-back tightness for the Los Angeles Lakers’ Sunday road game against the Detroit Pistons, after scoring 53 points in Friday’s win over Portland. The Lakers are 8-2 and have won four straight; Doncic is averaging 40.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists through nine games. Detroit is 6-2, but will be without Jalen Duren because of a hamstring strain. If Doncic cannot play, Austin Reaves is expected to lead the Lakers’ offense, with Quentin Grimes and Collin Sexton likely to see expanded minutes. Doncic’s status is expected to be clarified before tipoff; the game begins a four-game Lakers road trip and a back-to-back.
