Brewers Win World Series Opener After 44 Years

The Milwaukee Brewers lead the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 in the World Series after the Rays won Game 4, 4-3, in 12 innings to avoid a sweep. Rookie Cooper Pratt put Milwaukee ahead with a solo homer in the 12th, but Tampa Bay tied the game on Jonny DeLuca’s single and won on pinch-hitter Ben Williamson’s bases-loaded hit. Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday at Tropicana Field; a Rays win would send the series back to Milwaukee.
