SNL Roasts Musk Over Midterm Election Losses

Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update featured Jeremy Culhane portraying Elon Musk after Musk spent hundreds of millions of dollars backing Republican candidates who lost in Texas. Colin Jost mocked Musk’s move to Texas and relocation of his companies over taxes, noting that the state’s Democratic wins could leave him facing the taxes he sought to avoid. Culhane’s awkward Musk repeatedly praised Jost’s insults as “epic vulgar roasts” and asked Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, to roast him; the generated jabs targeted his public image and family. The sketch also drew on Musk’s own promotion of Grok’s roast feature and capped a politically difficult week for the billionaire.
