Red Sox, Mets Win Four Gold Gloves
MLB announced the 2026 Gold Glove Awards on Sunday night, Nov. 1. Red Sox and Mets players took four awards combined. Boston had three American League winners; the Mets had one in the National League. The Diamondbacks also had three, tying Boston for the most. Wilyer Abreu won his third straight AL right field Gold Glove after leading the majors with 28 Defensive Runs Saved. Ceddanne Rafaela took AL center field for the second straight year. First-time winner Caleb Durbin became the first Red Sox third baseman honored since 1959. Mets rookie pitcher Nolan McLean won the NL pitcher award, the first rookie pitcher to claim a Gold Glove and the first Mets winner since 2014. Yankees left fielder Cody Bellinger won his second career Gold Glove, his first since 2019, with 21 defensive runs saved after beating finalists Chandler Simpson and Wyatt Langford. The Yankees posted on X: "Good as Gold. Congratulations on your 2nd career Gold Glove, Belli!" Milwaukee’s Brice Turang won his second and Jackson Chourio his first. Matt Olson and Christian Walker each won a fourth; Diamondbacks Gabriel Moreno and Geraldo Perdomo were also honored. Coverage shows no substantive factual dispute. The Boston Herald’s 1959 marker and wire language of a more than six-decade wait describe the same Durbin milestone.
